About Parque da Autonomia
Cultural space that fights to reduce the brutal inequalities that characterize Brazil. It cares for art, education, democracy, citizenship and autonomy.
The Parque da Autonomia arts and education center is a cultural space that was created in the city of Votorantim with the aim of collaborating with the construction of artistic, cultural and educational autonomy in the community. Created by the Coletivo O¹² in 2008, this space aims to continue with the intention of educating, training, qualifying and professionalizing people for cultural and/or artistic activities. Parque da Autonomia also reserves itself as a space for cultural diversity, welcoming and coexisting with differences between age groups, behaviors, ideas, parties, beliefs, cultures, ethnicities, social classes, ideologies, sexualities, genders, colors, physical conditions, etc. The initiative is dedicated to democratizing access to and consumption of culture. The courses and shows offered are activities that perceive art and education as ways of building autonomy and cultural citizenship.

O12 Collective
Founded in 2008, the O¹² Contemporary Dance Collective is a group of individuals and their desires who come together through dance to spread their artistic thoughts. Its main commitments are to understand collective processes, to shelter particularities within the collective, to seek quality and democratization of information and, fundamentally, to understand processes around the achievement and practice of autonomy in living systems. Actions and affections that contribute to the increase in the value and love of life are the guide for the dissemination of artistic desires that sustain the permanence of the O¹² Collective.
The Parque da Autonomia cultural space has been founded and managed by Coletivo O¹² since 2008.

Friends of Parque da Autonomia Movement
Our country is shaped by brutal inequalities, and Parque da Autonomia fights to reduce them. Being a friend of Parque da Autonomia means joining this cause. Unfortunately, education and culture in our country are not a right for everyone, but a privilege for a few, which is why we strive to keep our cultural services and products at affordable prices. Our mission is to democratize access to art, culture, and education, and to do so, we need the emotional strength of those who want to strengthen initiatives like ours. Friends make pacts, take care of each other, and work together to take care of what is important to both, right? So, to make this practice possible, the Friends of Parque da Autonomia Movement has systematized commitment plans so that we can maintain the social values that we practice. All those who want to become friends of this movement will need to commit to one of the following commitments:
Commitment plans:
MINIMUM - pay only R$60.00.
VIABLE - pay only R$ 120.00.
IDEAL - pay only R$200.00.
DESIRABLE – pay from R$ 300.00.
There are at least four ways to get involved and participate in our initiative: contributing the minimum, viable, ideal or desirable amount:
The minimum amount (R$60) only finances the teacher's salary for the course from which the student benefits, but does not contribute to the costs of the space (rent of the headquarters, water, electricity, internet, telephone bills, insurance and taxes).
The viable amount (R$120) further strengthens the initiative because it helps with these expenses, which are essential for the courses to take place.
The ideal amount (R$200) contributes to the space's bills, the teachers' salaries, and also the Parque da Autonomia's coordinating team, which has been working as volunteers since 2008, but is fully dedicated to this project, therefore needing to be paid.
And the desirable amount (starting at R$300) helps to improve the working conditions of people who are engaged in caring for education and citizenship in our city, contributes to the financing of cultural programming, artistic fees and expenses with the production of cultural events. It also refers to a political utopia, because we believe in citizenship education and we trust that society will become aware of the need to support and strengthen initiatives like ours, practicing appreciation and investing in the construction of a future that seems improbable, but never impossible.
Do you also think that Brazil does not value culture and education?
It's true, after all, Brazil is also made by each one of us, right? We are Brazil.
If we want a different Brazil, we need to act differently.
The invitation here is to do what is possible, that is, to act on a local scale, inspired by what needs to be transformed nationally and globally.
Let's do this together?
